My Mission
As an Astrophotography Ambassador with AlUla Manara, I contribute to promoting AlUla as a leading destination for astrophotography and dark-sky experiences.
My role combines photography, education, and field-based experiences, while promoting a deeper awareness of photographic culture and encouraging responsible practices that respect AlUl

My role combines photography, education, and field-based experiences, while promoting a deeper awareness of photographic culture and encouraging responsible practices that respect AlUla’s natural landscapes, archaeological sites, and cultural heritage.
Through specialized courses, workshops, and guided photography experiences, I introduce photographers to AlUla’s unique landscapes, heritage, and exceptional night skies.
AlUla Manara
An Astronomy, Education and Dark-Sky Initiative in AlUla
AlUla Manara is an astronomy and space-science programme led by the Royal Commission for AlUla. It is being developed as a pioneering destination for astronomical research, education, discovery, and astrotourism.
The programme brings together scientific research, advanced observation technologies, interactive learning, cultural storytelling, and immersive experiences inspired by AlUla’s ancient relationship with the night sky.
AlUla Manara will connect ancient celestial knowledge with modern astronomy through educational exhibitions, advanced telescopes, research programmes, workshops, and public stargazing experiences.
The AlUla Manara site, together with AlGharameel Nature Reserve, received international Dark Sky recognition in 2024, becoming the first officially recognised Dark Sky locations in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region.
Naif Yousif — Astrophotography Ambassador
Naif Yousif is a Saudi landscape and astrophotographer whose work explores the relationship between natural landscapes, cultural heritage, and the night sky.
Through years of field experience, he has developed a distinctive visual approach focused on composition, visual perception, natural light, and the unique character of desert landscapes.
As an Astrophotography Ambassador with AlUla Manara, Naif contributes to photography education, field training, and visual storytelling, while promoting responsible photography practices that respect AlUla’s natural environments, archaeological sites, and cultural heritage.
The Astrophotography Ambassador Program
The AlUla Manara Astrophotography Ambassador Program connects experienced photographers with AlUla’s educational and visual initiatives.
Through specialized courses, workshops, and field experiences, the ambassadors support photography education, dark-sky awareness, and responsible practices that respect AlUla’s natural landscapes, archaeological sites, and cultural heritage.
